Protein Ino: 32470617
Official Symbol: EPAS1
Geneid: 2034
Background: This gene encodes a transcription factor involved in theinduction of genes regulated by oxygen, which is induced as oxygenlevels fall. The encoded protein contains a basic-helix-loop-helixdomain protein dimerization domain as well as a domain found inproteins in signal transduction pathways which respond to oxygenlevels. Mutations in this gene are associated with erythrocytosisfamilial type 4.
