Protein Ino: 62510514
Official Symbol: CHMP1A
Geneid: 5119
Background: This gene encodes a member of the CHMP/Chmp family ofproteins which are involved in multivesicular body sorting ofproteins to the interiors of lysosomes. The initial prediction ofthe protein sequence encoded by this gene suggested that theencoded protein was a metallopeptidase. The nomenclature has beenupdated recently to reflect the correct biological function of thisencoded protein.
